We don't collect anything about you.
SlateOS is a piece of production equipment. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party services. There is nothing for us to collect, and we don't.
SlateOS collects no data. Every category on Apple's privacy questionnaire is answered “Data Not Collected”.
The detail
What stays on the device
So the app can reconnect after it's closed, two things are saved on the device itself:
- The address of your production's server — a hostname and port.
- The access token your production issued for that server.
These identify a server, not a person. They never leave the device except to connect to the server you entered. Deleting the app removes them.
Production content
The messages, contacts, call history, images and audio the app displays are written by your production and downloaded from your production's own server. They describe a fictional scene. We never see them, never store them, and have no access to the server your production runs.
What the app does not do
- It does not place telephone calls or send messages of any kind.
- It does not read your contacts, photos, messages, location or call history.
- It contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- It contains no third-party SDKs that collect data.
- It does not create an account or ask for an email address, a name or a phone number.
- It talks to no server other than the one you enter on the connection screen.
Children
SlateOS is professional equipment for film and television crews and is not directed at children. Because it collects no data at all, it collects none from children either.
If this ever changes
If a future version of SlateOS collects anything, this page will say so before that version ships, and the App Store listing's privacy report will be updated to match.
